Usually when this happens you will notice the AC hose leaking. You will possibly see it having some sort of icy mix to it on the floor.

Making Repairs

Fixing a clogged condenser is very simple and doesn’t require a professional. All you need to do is locate the outdoor PVC pipe where the AC unit drains. What you need to do is take your garden hose that has a nozzle attached to it and spray water inside the PVC pipe opening for 5 to 10 seconds. What follows next should be an outpouring of sludge, mainly algae, dirt and other debris that have clogged up the system.

After seeing all of this sludge come out of the pipe, go back inside and turn the AC unit on. If a clogged condenser line was the problem, then the unit should turn back on and begin to blow cold air almost. Most of the time this should do the trick, but if you’re still getting warm air through the vents, it may be a more serious issue that requires a professional inspection.

Contact a local AC repair specialist to take a look at the unit because it may be any number of problems. At least you tried fixing the simple issue on your own, but sometimes these delicate AC units need to be replaced.
